There are famous people in all times over the world. These people became famous just because they contributed to the welfare of mankind. In the gallery of famous people we can find:
- Men who discovered natural laws;
- Men who invented useful instruments;
- Men who created works of art.
Here you have a short list of some famous people:
DANTE ALIGHIERI: who wrote the “DIVINA COMMEDIA”, was an Italian poet who lived in Middle ages.
GOETHE: was a German writer who wrote famous dramas like “FAUSTO”.
CAMÕES: was a poet who wrote the History of the Portuguese people in his “LUSIADAS”.
TOLSTOY: who wrote “WAR AND PEACE” lived in the last century.
NEWTON: whose principal Discovery is the LAW OF GRAVITATION, is one of the greatest scientists of all times. He was born in England in 1642.
THOMAS EDISON: who invented the LAMP and many other things is the greatest American scientist.
SANTOS DUMONT: whose invention was the AIRPLANE, contributed to the progress of modern transportation. He was Brazilian.
ALEXANDER FLEMING: was a Scottish scientist who discovered the PENICILLIN, one of the greatest contributions to medicine in all times.
PASTEUR: who was a Teacher in Paris, proved that many diseases are originated by microbes. He is the “FATHER OF BACTERIOLOGY”.
KOCH: who discovered the BACILLUS OF TUBERCULOSIS, was a German scientist.
